The Open-Source Value Project is a laboratory for advancing the science and improving the practice of value assessment in the U.S. The process for developing disease-specific value assessment models creates an environment for collaboration, exploration, and innovation.
Models are developed with guidance and feedback from diverse stakeholders, from start to finish.
All model materials, from methods documentation to the open-source code, are freely available for download and use, and all stakeholder input is publicly released.
Patients have a critical voice in developing any tool that may affect health care decision-making. Patients are at the table in model design and development, as capturing value from patients’ perspectives is a key goal.
Flexible model structures and freedom to download and adapt IVI’s models allows new evidence and treatments to be readily incorporated into existing frameworks.
Models embrace emerging methods and strive to address the biggest challenges in modeling value – rather than just listing them as limitations.
Models are released in multiple formats geared toward a range of potential users – from expert modelers and programmers to non-technical decision and policy makers.
